I have had many teachers over my academic career and while I remember almost all of them, none stand out quite as much as Attila Farkas.
I met Attila in 2015 when I was enrolled in the Medical Office Administrator program at CTS – Canadian Career College in Barrie, Ontario. Attila taught most of my computer courses in the program. To say that he knows his computers is the understatement of the century. He is a Microsoft Office Specialist.
Attila is so much more than that. He is a caring and compassionate person and a very patient instructor. I remember struggling with Accounting (math and I never did get along) but Attila walked me through it, step-by-step. He varies his instructing techniques so that he ensures every one of his students understands the course. It doesn’t matter how many times he needs to review material with his students, he does so without making his students feel negative about themselves.
Attila pushes his students to be the very best that they can be, both academically and personally. I love to write and Attila has encouraged me to start blogging, even though it is not something that I would have normally thought I could do. Attila has faith in his students’ abilities and encourages their strengths and helps them overcome their weaknesses.
Attila genuinely cares about the people he teaches and sees them as people, not just students or numbers. Any person who has him as an instructor, even if only for one course, should count themselves among the luckiest people in the world.
